Ah, fall; a season of pretty colors and my favorite trends. As fall quickly approaches, Fashionista/os prepare for the cooler months by breaking out jeans, light jackets and darker colors. Nashville has some of the best fall weather, too. Leafs change, the air is crisp enough to enjoy a night outside and the spirit of a new school year is amongst everyone on campus. In case it is not totally obvious, I love fall.
This Fashionista was all about fall’s best staple: denim. Keep in mind, denim on denim is a brave look to try. This Fashionista pulls it off flawlessly by keeping her denims two different shades. On top, she sports a vintage Calvin Klein button-down that belonged to her mom. On bottom, a pair of Nashville’s own imogene + willie jeans. To accessorize, this Fashionista complemented her western denim with a bolo tie.
Denim on denim is a great fall look to rock. The key is to keep the denim tones varied and to accessorize with something interesting, like a bolo tie. To get this Fashionista’s look, go vintage! Scour your local thrift stores for a good denim button-down, like this Fashionista. But if not vintage, try this J.Crew denim button-down. For bottoms, you can get this Fashionista’s exact jeans from imogene + willie’s online store. Imogene + willie is a locally-made denim store in Nashville that specializes in handcrafted jeans. For a bolo tie, try this one from SilverTribe. Don’t forget to look for bolos at flea markets and vintage stores!
As the new year begins, try something new with your look. A new year means a new chance to try something out. Double denim can be daunting for some, but this Fashionista proves that this look can be achieved with a couple of easy steps.
