Everyone loves a classic piece. They never go out of style and they’re always okay to wear. With most classic pieces you can mix them up to accommodate your style, and this rule does not exclude the ever popular denim jean.
While some may shy away from jeans, some swear by them, styling them to fit whatever occasion. Take this Fashionista who found her dENiZEN® from the Levis® brand Essential Stretch Skinny Jean at Target. She says of her denim, “I like wearing denim jeans because they’re stylish, comfortable and original.” She’s right and us campus go-ers agree. The right denim jean creates a gateway for comfort and style — something we’re all looking for when it’s the end of the semester and finals have us too tired to tackle our wardrobe. With denim jeans you can keep it easy and make your style look effortless.
Besides denim being a quick fix for a lazy day, it’s also very versatile. Skinny and boyfriend jeans have become a weekend staple. No matter what you pair with either one, throwing on a nice pair of shoes can take your outfit to the next level. Dressing up your denim is also an easy way to achieve an easy day to night look when you’re pressed for time. If you’re a casual denim wearer try glamorizing your jeans. Add a lot of color and mixing up textures and prints. Act a little unexpected and experiment with denim on denim. Try a contrasted look with a light-wash or patterned denim button-up on top of dark-wash denim jeans. Next, throw on your heels and you’ll be the fashion innovator of the night.
When buying jeans, find the right pair that fits your body type. Uncomfortable jeans are horrible and made even worse by excessive desk sitting and test taking. If you’ve got full hips and thighs, go with flat-front flares to balance out your proportions and try dark wash to accentuate those hips. For the hourglass shapes, go with high-waist jeans to really bring attention to your small waist. And for ladies whom have a more straight look go with bright skinnies to give attention to your natural silhouette. Also, don’t go so tight with the jeans, this will actually just make you look even more skinnier in the legs.
Denim jeans may always be the anecdote for those days when you’re saying “I have nothing to wear.” The secret is to find the right pair and sticking with it. Be loyal to your denim, it’ll be loyal to you.
