Style Advice of the Week

Black and white is the classic, never can go wrong combo. You can use this combination to create something classic, edgy or modern. Dressing outside of the box, you can take the black and white combo one step further by incorporating colors on the lighter and darker sides of the color spectrum. That way, it gives your look multi-dimensionality.

This Fashionista is wearing a white shirt, a black polka-dot skirt, black jacket, cream colored booties and a black Longchamp bag. I like the mix of lights and darks throughout her outfit. Mixing prints and solid colors in the same hue makes the outfit more interesting.  Her skirt in combination with her bare legs and cream colored boots, capture the freeness of spring. In contrast, her jacket and the dark colors add sophistication and keeps her warm as we transition from winter to spring. Her booties can work with bare legs in the spring and summer and look edgy against black jeans in the fall and winter.

For a day of classes, shopping or hanging out with friends, pair a white blazer, a gray T-shirt, peach shorts and black loafers. For a night out on the town, wear a black and white button-down shirt, a black moto vest, black jeans and white ankle boots.

When in doubt, mix light colors and dark colors for a perfect outfit. The combinations of clothing and accessories are endless, and you can present yourself any way you want. The best part is that you will always look chic.
