When the sun goes down after a long, steamy day, sometimes it takes the steam right along with it. With that crisp nighttime breeze blowing against your freshly sunburnt skin you’re probably wishing your arms weren’t so bare, that’s where this summer staple makes it’s big debut — the jean jacket.
This is one item that seemingly never goes out of style and can be endlessly combined with outfits, what more could a girl ask for? When it’s too hot for leather, and too chilly for a sweater, a denim jacket is the perfect solution, no matter what the occasion! Throw on a jean jacket over shorts and a T-shirt for a casual-cool vibe or combine it with a flirty sundress for more of a feminine feel — this is definitely one item your summer wardrobe just can’t do without.
This week’s Fashionista sported a jean jacket with a twist. How often do you see a motorcycle-inspired denim jacket complete with unique embroidering? Almost never, which is why I felt the need to share it with the world! This chic chick decided to let her jacket do the talking by pairing it with plain black leggings, a pink tee, white converse and an oversized Marc by Marc Jacobs bag.
There are so many ways to incorporate a denim jacket into your style, you just have to find one that works best for you! For the more feminine, preppy Fashionistas I’d suggest styling it over a bright colored skirt or dress. As for the edgier Fashionistas, denim jackets make a great combination with black leather leggings or jeans! I can honestly say that I am 100 percent confident that I could successfully incorporate my denim jacket into 95 percent of the clothes in my closet, making this piece one that I can’t live without.
If you’re not looking to make as much of a statement with your choice of denim there are a variety of more classic styles available at stores like Urban Outfitters, Nordstrom and even Forever 21! I’d suggest starting with the classic style and then growing your collection from there — it’s hard to go wrong with such a never-go-out-of-style piece! How will you style your denim jackets this summer?
