Denim trends have come a long way from the denim-on-denim ensembles that were rocked in the ’90s. The beauty about trends is that they always seem to repeat themselves, but in new and more modern ways. One of my favorite elements of denim is its versatility. From school time to play time, there is always a place for denim in any Fashionista’s/o’s ensemble. Today, denim means more than just a pair of Levi Brand Jeans, and Fashionistas and Fashionistos are creating new, trendy ways to don the denim apparel.
From high-waisted shorts to oversized button-down dresses, denim has hit the scene in major ways. Acid-washed denim, distressed denim, classic dark wash denim and more are available to suit any and every Fashionista’s/o’s needs. The style opportunities for denim clothing are timeless and endless.
This Fashionista has taken the denim trend and styled it in one of my favorite ways: layered. Her button-down denim top is layered with a graphic print sweater that created a retro ’90s look but with a modern day twist. The black leggings and black booties tie the look together for a simple, yet chic, look. This Fashionista is ready to make her rounds around town looking cute and comfortable.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Denim is a great accessory to have, especially with the changing temperatures we encounter out here in the desert. With layers, I can take the denim off and wrap it around my waist for a different, yet still stylish look.”
