STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Cutout Crazy

July 16th, 2015 at 2:00am

I’ve said it probably a million times, but I love summer. It’s such a freeing time, where days are glorious, and nights are endless. And, since 2015, the “classic summer wardrobe” is anything but classic, I thought I’d share this fabulous Fashionistas summer uniform.

From the toes up; a killer polish is key. Especially with strappy sandals, which should preferably come in a color that matches many things, like black. To ensure it doesn’t cut your leg funny, and make them look short, make sure the ankle straps aren’t pressed up directly to your ankles. If you need an example, check this Fashionista’s shoes! They’re close, but not too tight.

The blue, cross-body purse is a fun touch that adds color to this ensemble, without being too much. Plus, the fun color is perfect for day-to-night life. (i.e. bright enough for the day, not too bright for night). Also, the fact that this bag is medium-sized means you can bring everything and anything you need.

Next comes my personal favorite; the cutouts. These cutouts make the outfit! They keep the T-shirt dress from being just another basic, gray dress. They’re fun, hip and not so distracting that it feels too revealing or forced. Plus, they break up the monotone. It’s a win-win!

Finish off with a simple lipstick, and hair do, and you’ve got a super fun, casual and not boring outfit!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “When planning an outfit, check the weather! Cutouts are fun, but if it’s raining, they will not fly.”
