STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Cute And Cropped

By now, everyone’s familiar with the crop top, and everyone has a favorite way to wear one. Whether you’re a fan of the DIY cropped T-shirt or perhaps a looser floral cropped tank top, there truly is a crop top out there for everyone. However, showing too much skin isn’t always appropriate in a classroom setting, so wearing a crop top to class can often be risky. Fortunately, by keeping the color palette neutral, and having the hem of the shirt hit just above the belly button, it’s totally possible to rock your favorite top on campus.

This Fashionista’s style is after my own heart, and I’m already planning on recreating this look using pieces I already own. The black turtleneck crop top is super versatile, so it can be worn with skirts, jeans and shorts alike. Her jeans are just high enough to show a bit of skin when paired with the crop top, but it’s not overwhelming by any means. Dr. Martens like hers will always be a go-to for me, and the forest green color makes them ideal for spring, when all the plants are starting to bloom again.

I also happen to be majorly obsessed with this Fashionista’s jewelry and haircut, which are just too cool. The metal jewelry pairs well with the dark palette of the whole outfit, and it just has such an effortlessly edgy vibe overall.

When it comes to dressing for spring, don’t forget the pieces you wore during winter. It’s often pretty easy to style them for the warmer months, and those transitional outfits are amazing for days when the weather hasn’t fully heated up.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Wearing dark colors in spring is totally all right in my book, but it’s a good idea to pick pieces that aren’t too heavy or overpowering for the overall look.”
