Another semester is upon us again. September issues are piling up, Fashion Week is around the corner and our trunks are packed for back to school. Every new semester comes with the excitement of a fresh start. Each girl is standing in front of her closet debating what to wear for first day of school. So for my first STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK, let’s talk basics.
Let’s focus on those items you’ll need for any occasion in college. The simple white crop top is the perfect closet addition for nights out. It’s appropriate for class when paired with high-waisted jeans. It’s a fun and flirty look that can be modest as well as playful. Throwing on a sweater adds for a fall breezy look. This Fashionista’s scalloped top is a perfect staple to her closet. Transition this outfit to nighttime with a high-waisted skater skirt. With something more dressy and the addition of heels, you’re ready for a night out with your friends or a date with the boy who helped you move your stuff in.
So heading back to school, I say you’re going to need crop tops and high-waisted bottoms. This look has cycled through fashion from the ’50s to the ’90s and it’s now back. It seems as though no season or decade is stopping this garment.
This Fashionista has all the essentials to mix and match for any occasion coming up in her semester. This subtle top is perfect to pair with any bottoms whether bearing midriff or not. It is both trendy and fun. For girlie girls, cropped tops with skirts and for chic, subtle girls, cropped tops with overalls. Either way, crop it!
