STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Crochet, The Right Way

June 18th, 2015 at 2:00am

I think it’s safe to say that we are all feeling the summer heat. Sometimes, it can be hard to wear something fashionable while keeping your cool. One of the best solutions to this summertime dilemma is crochet. In fact, crochet has become a beloved summery choice. Crochet is a style of knitting with interlocking loops of material; it can be heavy and chunky or airy and light, depending on the material.

This week’s Fashionista serves as a great example of summer crochet done right. Her style surely shows that there are ways to beat the heat while keeping your look free and effortless. This Fashionista is rocking a white crochet top. The lightweight material gives the whole look a delicate feel. Even with the fiery sun beating down (it was a blazing 85 going on 200 degrees), our Fashionista was able to go about her day without feeling weighed down.

Her black and white floral shorts added a little something extra to her outfit. The pattern  scattered throughout her shorts is perfect for the season and the loosely fitted silhouette is a great way to keep everything looking casual. With this outfit, our Fashionista chose to keep the accessorizing down to a minimum. She was toting around a structured black leather bowler handbag to give the simple outfit a bit of sophistication. Her heavily tinted sunglasses topped off this sunny summer ensemble.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Keep things looking classy and put together. You never know where your day will lead you.”
