STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Comfy and Stylish for Class

Summer has come to an end with the beginning of the new semester. As much as we wish we could wear our favorite denim shorts and flip-flops to class, it’s not always the most appropriate look, especially with autumn right around the corner. However, it’s still easy to dress stylish and comfortable for class while ditching our denim shorts and flip-flops.

While wondering around the University of Miami campus, I ran into this Fashionista, who managed to make this casual outfit both comfortable and stylish. She started off her look with basics: denim and a white top. Instead of denim shorts, she opted for a pair of light wash, distressed jeans. The light wash lent the outfit a more carefree look, but she was able to fight the cold in her classroom by choosing jeans rather than shorts. Her white, silky tank top is an upgrade from the basic, white t-shirt and gives her a outfit a more feminine look.

Next, we move on to the accessories. If you have ever been to the UM campus, you know that there is a lot of walking involved to get from class to class, which is why this Fashionista chose to wear her adidas Superstar sneakers. Besides keeping her feet comfortable, they also upgraded her look from basic to trendy. The black and white is neutral enough to match any other color that she chooses to incorporate into her outfit. The pop of color in this outfit is her green, military inspired jacket that she tied around her waist. By tying it around her waist, she added dimension to her outfit and incorporated color. Her black purse is perfectly on trend with its chain handle and adds a sophisticated touch to her casual outfit. Since we are in the sunshine state after all, this Fashionista could not be missing a pair of sunnies. She chose a pair of mirrored, round frame sunglasses to protect her eyes from the sun and look extra stylish.
