STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Comfort Comes First

Comfort can either make or break an outfit no matter how stylish it may be. I know for myself, there’s nothing worse than putting on a top in the morning and already knowing that I’m going to be uncomfortable in it all day, so my theory is if we have to wear clothes, why not be comfortable in them?

While I was growing up, my mom would always say that she felt “comfy-cozy” when she had on a warm and comfortable outfit, and that’s the exact saying that came to mind when I saw this Fashionista (thanks mom)! Everyone knows that the easiest way to stay warm in the winter is to stack up on layers. She took full advantage of this, all while staying within a subdued color palette of cool neutrals.

The staple item and my favorite aspect of her outfit has to be her beige hoodie. Not only is it one of the softest items known to man, but it even has a trendy side split AND a huge hood. What more could you want?! She layered a soft white and blue tie-dyed T-shirt underneath and a violet bralette that fits the comfy vibe perfectly. She chose to cuff her skinny jeans to show off her gray cabin socks and finished off the look with her elk/grizzly bear brown Sorel boots, which were perfect for walking through the snow that was falling.

The winter months can be a difficult time in the year to dress for. You’re constantly torn between wanting to look presentable, but not being too psyched about changing out of that hoodie you’ve worn to bed the last three days. By taking a page out of this Fashionista’s book, you now have an easy way to look good and feel even better in your outfits!
