Summer Break is so close I can taste it. I can’t wait for long beach days, outdoor concerts and relaxing weekends. Just because we aren’t on summer vacation quite yet doesn’t mean that we can’t dress like we are. Today’s Fashionista is a perfect example of how to dress like it’s summer vacation during the last few weeks of finals.
This Fashionista’s staple piece are her brightly colored Lilly Pulitzer shorts. Lilly prints are Florida-inspired and are seriously summery. From Kentucky Derby day dresses, to flamingo printed monthly planners, to sorority printed scarves, these sunny prints are everywhere on southern college campuses. If a bold dress or pair of shorts is too overwhelming, start simple with a happy beach bag. Nothing says summertime like a little Lilly.
Today’s Fashionista balanced out the bold shorts with an airy off-white blouse. Tank top blouses are perfect for summertime; they are flattering but also light enough to wear once that humid Florida air takes over. If you’re feeling especially restort-y, pair your vivid shorts with a solid neon blouse. For a subtler twist, swap out the cream bandeau layer for a bright pink or soft turquoise.
No summertime outfit is complete without a great pair of Sperry Top-Siders. I love this Fashionista’s gold pair of boat shoes because it works as a neutral. Comfy boat shoes are perfect for outdoor outlet shopping or vacation brunches. Boat shoes work for so much more than an actual boat ride—don’t limit their greatness.
A killer summery outfit is the perfect way to battle through the last few finals before summer vacation arrives!
