Skirts come in all beautiful shapes and sizes. One of the most flattering is the circle skirt. Crowned as one of my must-have pieces, it reigns as the queen of all skirts in my wardrobe kingdom. The circle skirt flows from a tightening waistline into a flaring and voluminous body. It’s truly a goody and designer brands such as alice + olivia and DKNY agree as we see it in their fall 2013 ready-to-wear collections. Also, its unique shape is flattering for all body types. Take your turn to experiment with this beauty like today’s Fashionista.
Her skirt is a light cement gray shade perfect for a summer to fall transition color. Take a similar approach and play with neutral and cool tones such as chestnut browns, olive greens or ocean blues. If the weather permits, tuck in a T-shirt for your top, if it’s chilly, throw on a cozy light sweater. Try to keep the colors in the same spectrum.
As for accessories, here is where the splashes of color come in. Throw in a bright yellow scarf like this Fashionista did. Reminiscent of the turning color of leaves in the fall, it’ll tie the look together as it will beautifully mesh in with the rest of the colors in your ensemble. Yellow will become a popular color for fall as PAUL & JOE‘s fall 2013 ready-to-wear collection displays it.
With a twirl here and there, you’ll sure be able to turn some heads. Have fun with your circle skirts and leave them in your closets throughout fall — just slip into some tights for the cooler days. Good luck!
