This Fashionista’s outfit is so dope that it’s hard for me to pinpoint exactly what about it I love so much. Her lipstick was the first thing that grabbed me; as red tends to do. I love wearing a red lip, but often times we fall away from lipstick in the winter because lips tend to try out quicker. However, moisturized lips can handle lipstick in colder temperatures, so if you need another reason to drink more water, consider the value of bright lips all year round.
The combination of her circle-framed sunnies and the lines of her lips and brows create a crisp, precise look that I admire as someone who spends less than 30 seconds their face each morning. The color and geometric detail of her accessories is evident in her bright blue sweater with contrasting horizontal stripes. By pairing her sweater with black coat, pants, socks and shoes, she lets the few colors she chose stand out in a minimalist way.
I love the way she cuffed her pants and paired them with her loafers. By keeping her lower half in black, the composition makes the pant-sock-loafer appear as a cohesive thought rather than three separate creative expressions in tight quarters. Cuffed pants are common sights these days, though I mostly see people cuffing their jeans with a patterned, colored or wool sock with sneakers or boots. This Fashionista shows that the cuff works beyond the familiar material and type of shoes. I also like to pair oxfords with dress socks that show underneath high-waist trousers. You might be surprised at how much you enjoy wearing something other than boots every day in spite of less than perfect runways sidewalks.
