STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Colored Denim

March 5th, 2015 at 2:00am

Everyone has their favorite pair of jeans. They’ve been worn so much, so they’re actually comfortable and can be paired with anything for those lazy mornings. Colored jeans are making a statement on college campuses everywhere, and I think they’re here to stay.

This trend is the perfect way to spice up an outfit that regular colored denim wouldn’t. Colored denim makes it so easy to bring out a particular color in your favorite top or accent the color in your favorite statement necklace. One of the best parts about this trend is that it isn’t just limited to jeans. Colored denim can be featured on shorts and capris as well, making the possibilities truly endless. Colored denim can be done in a variety of ways, such as preppy, grunge, street and so much more. No matter how you define your own personal style, this trend can be adopted into your wardrobe with ease. It’s so versatile and can be interpreted in many different ways.

This Fashionista shows us why this trend is making a comeback on college campuses. She pairs her burgundy colored jeans with a graphic sweatshirt to be both edgy and comfortable. The jeans are the perfect pop of color for this look. They aren’t a super bright color that’s distracting, and they accent the entire outfit perfectly. She adds a cream knit scarf to accent the white in the sweatshirt and for added warmth. A cute silver ring is the perfect accessory for this look since the sweatshirt has a lot going on. She completes the entire look with a pair of boots to combat the winter cold. The best part about these colored jeans is that they can be worn all throughout the year and aren’t limited to just one season. This is why I believe this trend is making a comeback. With so many outfit possibilities, one cannot go wrong with colored denim.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Confidence! I think it’s very important to have confidence in yourself no matter what you’re wearing. Whether you’re in sweats, colored denim jeans or a boot like me, you should be confident in yourself all the time. It’s the best accessory.”
