STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Color Me Print

Let’s be honest, we are all happy the weather is getting warmer.  So, we should let our wardrobe know we’re happy about it! There are some of us, like myself, who are stubborn when it comes to picking clothing outside of neutral shades. Yet, I must say, it is a splendid feeling when summer’s effervescence reflects through your ensemble. One way to add vitality to your closet is with a printed piece.

Prints will never go outdated. However, throughout fashion history certain prints have been favored over the others of its time. This spring/summer, the streets are nodding to eclectic patterns. Dries Van Noten and other high fashion designers are confirming this newfound fashion addiction on the runway.

Under the hot sun, this Fashionista’s “hot” printed maxi immediately caught my eye. Not only does the shift material drape her figure nicely, but the patterned fabric makes a bold statement. A combination of neon oranges, blues, pinks, yellows and purples blend together to paint a beautiful tribal print. Like MAC’s bright plum matte lipstick, her dress is “Flat Out Fabulous.”

Because this Fashionista’s dress speaks loudly, she has taken a minimalist approach to accessorizing. She paired her statement garment with an oversized brown tote, gold strapped sandals and an elegant gold watch. This is the true beauty of an eclectic print; it speaks for itself.

Eye-catching prints take the form of all apparel from trousers to co-ordinates, you name it! They are the perfect addition to a hectic Fashionista/o’s wardrobe because they add a pop of summer to an ensemble, with little extra styling necessary.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK?: “I love a printed garment for the same reason I love a maxi dress. Whenever next you’re on the run, grab your favorite printed piece because it is easy to style especially when you’re pressed for time.”
