Renowned former Vogue editor-in-chief, Edna Woolman Chase, once said, “Fashion can be bought. Style one must possess.” This saying easily applies to this Fashionista on the Marist College campus. As the warm summer days start to fade and we are no longer able to wear sizzling summer trends, we must transition into the new fall fads. Going to school right next to the Hudson River, you never know what type of weather you might endure. If you have a morning class you could be walking in cool temperatures and leave with the sun beating down on you while walking back to your dorm. What is a Fashionista/o to do? This Fashionista combines summer trends with current fall fashions to make the most stylish, weather conscious outfit for class.
One of the hottest trends is the chambray shirt. It seems that everyone has been rocking a chambray lately, most likely due to the lightness of the fabric. Chambray is a trend that will definitely be in style for many seasons. This Fashionista perfectly pairs her chambray shirt with coral-colored jeans. Coral is a great color for this transitional fashion period because it gives a great pop of color to any fall outfit. There are a plethora of vibrantly colored jeans in stores recently, it seems there are even more than classic dark washes. Colored jeans are the perfect complement to a classic chambray shirt.
This Fashionista’s Steven Madden sandals are the perfect finishing touch to this outfit. These shoes are perfect for day to day and go with anything (just like the matching accessories)! Gold goes with nearly any outfit, especially this one because it adds warmth to the fall fashions this Fashionista portrays.
One of the reasons I love my campus so much is because I get to see how students put their own twists on trends and fads. How the students present themselves in this way shows how important clothes are to people. While many students dress to impress, true Fashionistas/os dress for themselves and exude confidence like the one featured today. Color and chambray goes together like peanut butter and jelly and I do not see that couple breaking up any time soon.
