STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Color-Block On

Sick and tired of always wearing the same old colors? I know I am, so bring on the color! Don’t get me wrong, I am a strong lover of wearing a chic black outfit, but color is a fun way to spice up any outfit. There are so many colors to play around with and one popular trend going around is color-blocking which is putting together two different colored articles of clothing together. Wearing different colors together in the summer is an easy way to stay stylish.

Bethany Frankel from The Real Housewives of New York City had a fashion talk show discussing the latest trends. On one of her shows she focused on color-blocking and explained to her audience how one accomplishes it. Ever since then, I kept an eye out for this trend. I found myself playing around with different colors to jazz up my outfit since it is easy to do. Everyone has color in their outfits to play around with whether you dress classic, bohemian or funky, color is there to play with.

This Fashionisto really caught my eye. Not only did he color-block with his light pink shorts and blue top, but the top has a hint of plaid. His light pink khaki shorts were perfectly matched with a slightly darker blue button-up. To add some funkiness to his outfit, he wore a pair of Warby Parker glasses. These glasses are a great hit, because with every pair bought a pair gets donated to someone less fortunate! The Fashionisto also rocked a casual leather watch and summery bracelets on the other wrist. He wore a vineyard vines patterned belt to add some pop to his outfit and even though the patterns are plaid vs. stripes, they go together.  Is it summer if the boys are not wearing their boat shoes? No, so he finished off this outfit with a pair of light brown boat shoes and his look is clean-cut and acceptable for any given day.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? ”I really try to keep my outfits simple, but still stylish. I like walking out of the house and feeling good about myself as I want to be presentable at all times. I advise everyone to wear lots of color this summer because it is so easy to do!”
