Lately I’ve been having a total obsession with collars. I’ve been spotting a lot of Fashionistas with this look, from sweaters paired with lace trimmed Peter Pan collars, to sweatshirts with denim button-downs underneath. This week’s stylish lady totally rocked a happy medium between these two looks — denim shirts and sweaters.
This trendy student caught my eye because of her cute collar and abundance of colors, but I loved her look even more once I got a closer look. First off, how cool is her denim shirt? The polka dots change up your staple simple denim, and instantly add a new spin. I love that they’re small as well, keeping it simple enough to always get away with. For an even bigger change, Gap does this fabulous denim shirt featuring stars, instead of dots. The printed denim has a similar look to this Fashionista’s though, keeping the charm of her colorful collared outfit.
The other thing that I couldn’t help but notice was this Spartan’s shoes. Oxfords are always a fantastic choice, but these colored ones? I’m obsessed. They added a huge pop of color to this look, without being too out there. The yellow was subtle enough to stay mellow, but just bright enough to stand out. While this Fashionista mentioned that her shoes were from London, you can definitely get a stand out shoe of your own, but a little closer to home. Topshop has these super cool Geek Shoes, available in the U.S, bringing this girl’s yellow footed London style across the pond.
While the little things completed this outfit in style, this outfit was definitely a hit overall. The forest green skinny jeans are the perfect colored pants for winter. DKNY does a similar pair in a dark olive color, which perfectly mirror this Fashionista’s pair. She also paired her polka-dot collar with a red knit, super similar to this slouchy crewneck.
This color-blocked outfit created a fabulous look, featuring one of my favorite trends right now. The collared shirt and sweater look is a match made in heaven, keeping it classy and cool.
