For some Fashionistas and Fashionistos, it is hard to make enough outfits from your wardrobe’s repertoire that will last for the whole school year with zero repetitions. However, the key to making the most of your closet is to find a few basic pieces that you truly love and then mix in trendier pieces in each season. That’s exactly what I thought of when I saw this Fashionista. She had the perfect mixture of classic and trendy pieces that would be ideal for campus and conservative enough to meet with professors.
The classic elements of her outfit are the black blazer and denim dress (yes, I consider denim a classic). These two pieces can be worn through any season, can be dressed up or down and can be transformed with the right accessories. The trendy pieces of this Fashionista’s outfit are the floral print scarf and slouchy black boots. The boots maintain the winter vibe of the outfit while the floral scarf gives us a hint of what’s to come for the spring. Once the weather gets warmer, she can ditch the blazer and boots for some cork wedges, but for now she looks extremely polished and ready to take on a day of classes.
Mixing classic and trendy pieces really can prolong the amount of time you can wear an article of clothing. Trendy pieces can give each outfit a new look without breaking the bank on a whole new wardrobe each season. So for the spring, get ready to mix up your basic tees, blazers and skinny jeans with some neon accessories, ankle strap heels and anything floral to maintain a fresh look for the warmer weather to come.
