When I spotted this Fashionisto, the first thing that attracted me to him was his classic footwear. Usually, New Balance shoes do not catch my attention for the simple fact that they’re not my go-to sneaker. New Balance has the reputation for not being as popular as other sneakers because they’re oddly shaped and the soles are bulky. However, the shoe is beginning to resurface on the feet of street Style Gurus everywhere.
Unfortunately, in high school, I only owned one pair and I oddly misplaced one of the shoes in gym class, killing my chance to have any sort of New Balance obsession. Aside from my short period, the sneaker was comfortable, affordable and reliable.
This Fashionisto paired the orange New Balance 574’s classic’s with a yellow Stussy Knowledge is Power long sleeve shirt. Stussy has discontinued the Knowledge is Power shirt, but the link has a similar shirt. His jeans were ripped and distressed by a close friend. His accessory of choice is a San Francisco Giants fitted cap. His outfit is very casual, but the New Balance’s add a touch of unique style.
Although, the sneaker is not a fan favorite of some, I highly recommend trying this sneaker out for yourself. New Balance’s can be paired with just about anything and come in multiple colors and textures. The sneaker truly has it own je ne sais quoi about it.
