STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Clash of Colors

The first few weeks of class are the most fun time of the school year, especially when it comes to fashion. If you go to school somewhere like Syracuse then you know how brutal the winters can be. Once the chilly weather sets in, everyone is bundled up in snow boots, leggings and giant coats; not only is this a mood killer but it’s a fashion killer as well. This is why it’s important to take advantage of the great weather at the beginning of the year by showing off your cutest summer outfits!

This Fashionista did exactly that with her look. The central piece of this outfit is her multi-colored, multi-print shift dress. Dresses are my favorite summer piece because they’re so easy to style. You don’t have to worry about matching or coordinating multiple layers. Summer is the perfect time to play with different prints, patterns and colors, which is exactly what this Fashionista did. Each print adds its own pop of color to her outfit without one overpowering the other. This allows for an interesting but not overwhelming look. The silk texture gives off casual, effortless and breezy vibes.

She also added rustic, boho vibes to this outfit with her brown sandals and bracelets. Both subtly give off a casual, relaxed look, allowing her dress to take center stage. Her black, leather tote and black sunglasses are both classic pieces that everyone should have in their closet. They’re sleek, chic and easy to style. As you can see, they’re the perfect additions to this look, adding not only style but functionality as well.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “You dont have to spend a lot of money to look like you put effort into your outfit. I like to focus my outfit on one piece and build off of it using affordable and versatile accessories. Also, shades are always a must, no questions asked.”
