School is starting to wind down and we are all getting ready for summer. Our class pace is starting to pick up and we are all cramming too much information into our heads. We definitely have the need for a weekend getaway and a mental break. Though summer is approaching fairly quick there is nothing wrong with a small, quick trip to get away from the campus. I had recently got my head out of the books and drove to Chicago, Illinois to meet my sisters and mom for a much needed shopping trip — Chicago is by far one of my favorite places on earth.
The city is beautiful and has endless shopping, which is a Fashionista/o’s dream come true. This trip was a much needed mental break that allowed me to relax and pull out some new bright, spring pieces. Even though the midwest is becoming chillier over night, it isn’t as cold as the brutal winter was. Let’s just say it was warm enough to wear our leather jackets and finally put on some shoes that weren’t winter boots.
This Fashionista kept her city attire simple by wearing black, but incorporated a little spring with her vibrant green tank from Banana Republic. Her black biker jacket was one of my all-time favorite pieces because of the leather and suede material – it suddenly made a classic item feel refreshingly updated. She wore black tuxedo pants from Nordstrom, which went perfectly with her fabulous, timeless peep-toe Jimmy Choo heels. Even though they were more of an expensive shoe, peep-toe shoes are very stunning and a spring essential. Many places like ALDO and Zara have inexpensive yet expensive-looking heels that are perfect for dressier spring shoes. This Fashionista pulled together an adorable city-chic outfit perfect for a weekend of fun in the city.
Doing well on your exams is very important but taking a break to relax is also important. So unwind, dress up for fun and maybe do a little retail therapy. Most importantly, have fun and find an excuse to dress up once in a while.
