Style Advice of the Week

With snowstorms hitting Denver weekly, it’s imperative that you dress in layers! One of the worst things is to leave for a long day full of classes and not have enough layers to stay warm. It is always better to dress in layers because if you become too warm you can take some off, but if you are cold you aren’t able to grab more clothes. This Fashionista did a great job of showing how diverse layers can be.

Besides incorporating layers into her outfit, this Fashionista was able to showcase a variety of styles. I was drawn to the cheetah shirt that was peaking through the jacket. The animal print shirt contrasted with the forest green jacket perfectly and added a pop of color to this chic outfit. It shows the feminine side of the outfit against the preppy jacket. The dark green color of the peacoat is a perfect color for winter. I love that it’s a darker color, but isn’t black or navy. Usually many people will dress in darker tones during winter, but this green tone is a perfect alternative.

This Fashionista continued to layer her outfit with a black infinity scarf. Scarves are great accessories to outfits because they can make an outfit pop and keep you warm. She wore light blue jeans to balance the darkness of the jacket. Lastly, this Fashionista decided to wear black vintage shoes that resemble jazz shoes to conclude her outfit. She does a great job of mixing feminine with preppy and animal print with solid colors.

Another way to add animal print to an outfit is to use it in accessories such as a purse. Whenever using animal print, make sure to keep the rest of the outfit relatively simple because the focus will be on the animal print.

Try to find a way to add animal print to your wardrobe this season whether it be cheetah, zebra, peacock or any other print!
