STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Casually Mixing And Matching

When it comes to fashion, there are so many different styles and ways people can mix-and-match their outfits. Options range from mixing patterns to matching colors together. In my opinion, summer is one of the best seasons in fashion. It’s a season with an explosion of colors, flowy textures, patterns and comfortable casual outfits. You get to see more of a person’s style because there are more options in the summer.

This Fashionista was on her way to work and wanted to feel comfortable and be casual. The concept of her outfit was basically to mix-and-match the prints in her tie and button-down. To keep the look casual, she wore some straight-leg jeans. The shoes the Fashionista was wearing also had some patterns incorporated in them, so the whole mix-and-match concept she was going for definitely worked out. The tie itself is the main attraction, and in order to do that, the Fashionista kept all the other patterns in her outfit subtle.

Ties are usually worn when it comes to special occasions or when having to dress up for an interview. But this Fashionista showed us that you don’t necessarily have to dress up with a tie. You can still keep your look casual and comfortable.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “It’s okay to mix patterns. If you’re going to mix patterns, make sure it’s subtle so they don’t clash or take away from each other. I also try to go for a tie and button-up ‘business-meets-casual’ style.”
