STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Casual, Comfortable And Cool

Looking stylish is often a struggle when trying to achieve comfort as well. Clothes can look classy and cute, but may cause discomfort and unease when they are tight and stuffy. Who wants to deal with that, right? Well, T-shirt dresses may the problem to your solutions. T-shirt dresses are exactly as the name suggest, a T-shirt with a torso length that extends the waist line to your knees.

Much like an over-sized T-shirt, T-shirt dresses are comfortable for their non-restricting and airy nature. It gives you a girly and sporty look without added constriction and discomfort that A-Line dresses or skirts may bring.

Although dresses tend to be girly, T-shirt dresses emphasize a more “sporty” look. Especially, since this Fashionista wore a T-shirt dress with a small New York symbol on her chest (closely resembling a casual baseball shirt), she was able to emphasize her sporty side in a trendy and fashionable way.

In order to accentuate her waist with comfort and style, this Fashionista styled her T-shirt dress with her husband’s long-sleeve blue flannel from UNIQLO tied around her waist. Since the flannel is slightly darker than the dress, it has the ability to accentuate her waist and add to the overall look rather than blend in or distract from it.

Having the flannel around your waist is not only for style either. During the summer, malls, classrooms and even homes can seem extremely cool compared to the hot weather outside due to the blasting air conditioners. By wearing a flannel around your waist, you will always be able to adjust to the temperature accordingly.

Last but not least, to top off the casual, comfortable and cool look, this Fashionista styled her outfit with her yoga sling sandals. These sandals are stylish with the sling wrapping around your ankle and foot. They are also made with a memory foam base. This means that you can walk all day in these sandals (or shop all day) without the pain, ache or discomfort that heels or typical sandals may bring.

Beauty may be pain, but it doesn’t always have to be that way. So this summer, before you buy a new addition to your wardrobe, why not look for comfort as well?
