STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Casual and Cool

Seasonal transitions can be a confusing time for anyone. Chances are while you’re daydreaming about hot chocolate, bonfires and everything pumpkin, you’re also suffering from the midday “still summer” heat.

The key to conquering the late stages of summer and the early stages of fall is to embrace the change in color, and leave the sweaters and stockings at home for now.

In my opinion, there are certain things that will never, ever go out of style and the vintage rocker T-shirt is one of them. It can be dressed up or dressed down, and it always gives the right amount of edge to any look regardless of the season. This Fashionista paired her favorite vintage T-shirt with a short army green overall dress. Overalls have come a long way from being introduced in the 1750s but I’ve been embracing the comeback, especially in the form of dresses.

Army green is a staple fall color and the thick denim fabric gives off an authentic vibe while still being breathable and suitable for the midday sun. This outfit is pulled together with an over the shoulder black backpack that carries all of this Fashionista’s back to school essentials, and a comfortable pair of Birkenstocks. And of course, you can never have too many rings.

Overall, this outfit can be worn during the day, and can be dressed up for a night out by swapping the casual pair of Birkenstocks for an edgy combat boot or even a platform heel. The short length and breathable T-shirt will keep you comfortable throughout the day, and throwing on a leather jacket will keep you stylish and warm throughout the chillier nights.
