You slip out of bed somewhere between 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and notice the sun casting light in through the window. Ah, yes. Warm, sunny weather that is perfect for a sundress or shorts, but before you step outside, you might want to check your weather app to avoid unexpected chilly breezes.
I spotted this Fashionista perfecting the morning cardigan look. She wore a bleached denim printed dress that had the most adorable triangular cutouts on the back. Over that she wore a bright tribal print cardigan, which coordinated really well with all of her accessories, especially her chunky bright pink necklace, rose gold Betsey Johnson wristwatch (which, by the way, are the most adorable watches created ever) and pink jewel ring.
Cardigans are hands down one of the best items you can have in your wardrobe, regardless of the season. As I mentioned before, weather in the morning is usually colder than in the afternoon so it’s definitely a good option to wear something over whatever you’re wearing to morning classes. When it warms up in the afternoon you can easily take it off and store it in your bag or button it up and wrap it around your waist.
You can either go for a solid color cardigan to wear over an outfit that has eye-catching details or you can opt for a bold print cardigan which would look fabulous over any outfit, like this Fashionista’s dress. A bold printed cardigan and some accessories that go along with the color scheme can effortlessly complete your outfit. Also, don’t forget to mix it up every once in a while by experimenting with different prints by adding a bold print cardigan to a totally different print in your outfit for a unique touch.
My style advice of the week is to not abandon your cardigans during the spring and summer months. Instead of moving them to the back of your closet, keep a few on hand. These lightweight sweaters can add a nice touch to a well put together outfit and also protect you from those early morning chills.
