STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: But Baby It’s Cold Outside

Scarves: we’ve had them all. They have evolved over the years. From rectangle scarves, (which we never know how to properly wear), square scarves, the pashmina wrap and the ever so trendy infinity scarf. The newest trend is blanket scarves. You can dress them up or dress them down.

This trend has taken the stores by storm. It comes in so many different colors and patterns and is versatile. It has become a staple in Fashionistas’ closets. Blanket scarves have been featured a lot on Lookbook. This scarf is on trend because of its versatility. These scarves come in many different patterns, textures and colors. You could have one to go with any type of outfit and color scheme. To top it all off, they’re cozy and keep you super warm. Whether its plaid, houndstooth or stripes, this scarf needs to become a staple in your winter wardrobe.

I’ve read a lot of controversy as to blanket scarves and their functionality. I believe the best way to wear a blanket scarf is how this Fashionista styled it. She wears a LOFT long-sleeved grey shirt, American Eagle Outfitters jeans and black-wedged booties. This is a simple outfit yet super chic and cozy. Since the scarf takes up a lot of neck space, this Fashionista decided to go with a topknot bun to really show off the scarf and not be too cluttered up top. This scarf gives this look added warmth to the overall look.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK?  “I would have to say keep it simple when it comes to wearing a blanket scarf. Keep your accessories light, yet classy. Nothing too bold since the scarf is doing all the work in this look.”
