STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Burnt Orange

Too often men’s fashion gets a bad rap. While it is true fashion has changed little for men in the last century, that doesn’t mean they have no contribution to fresh trends. So many people see fashion as a woman’s world and unfortunately, many men are discouraged from joining in. This is such a disservice to contemporary fashion. That is why when I see a man embracing his wardrobe and experimenting with current trends, I take notice. I stopped this fashion-forward Fashionisto outside my apartment building. Not only did I love his take on the burnt orange color covering the runways lately, I also appreciated that he didn’t let the cold wet weather dampen his apparel.

His burnt orange colored jeans give the outfit the perfect amount of intrigue, and keeps the ensemble on trend. This cold weather crusader is also a testament to the power of layers. His blue and white checked button-up adds dimension, and contributes to the color story. The gray zip-up pullover makes the outfit functional for winter and also makes it more casual. All these colors work together without conflicting and the focus is still centered on the statement color of the pants. The metal watch, aviators and gray suede boots really put the finishing touches on the outfit. My favorite aspect of this curated clothing is its versatility. This dapper gentleman can go seamlessly from class to work to late night drinks.
