If you aren’t home already, you will be soon! Whether it’s one final exam or one flight separating you from your own comfy bed, you’re almost on your month-long break. Freshmen—it’s surreal, right? I always think of winter break as the time to show-off the new, mature you after months of being away. While making conversation and catching up is great, the true way to show you’re doing well and loving school is through your fashion. This can be difficult to do in the winter without getting bundled up, but this Fashionista shows us how to be in style while home for the holidays.
I spotted this Fashionista perusing around the shops of Princeton in her bright take on winter apparel. I fell in love with her tangerine sheer button-up that was embellished with a sweater-like material to keep warm. She opted for a pair of dark jeans, fitting for the gray, day-after-snow day. This Fashionista donned an adorable black satchel decorated with gold, which drew my eye to her dark brown combats that pulled the look together.
What made this Fashionista’s outfit ideal for the holidays at home were her color choices. We immediately resort to dark colors such as black, grays, browns and blues. This Fashionista avoids the darkness with her ability to match bright with warm. Take from this Fashionista and find a bright sweater or top to rock with a pair of jeans for your relaxed days at home. Not ready to take the full plunge into bright hues? Start small with accessories. Add a little bright bling in your gloves or choose a scarf with a pop of color to spice up your look.
Coming home to people you haven’t seen in months can certainly be nerve-racking. Show them you’ve had the best semester thus far by brightening up the room in your cold weather style!
