STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Bright Booties

January 30th, 2015 at 2:10am

Okay, let’s be honest, what stylish Fashionista doesn’t own a pair of ankle booties? They’re easy to wear, trendy and totally versatile for any season. There is no doubt that ankle booties are a wardrobe staple and definitely a closet essential!

Especially with this horrible and bone-chilling winter weather that we have over here in Southern California, ankle booties are the key to being cute and cozy, making any cold weather outfit worth showing off on your way to class. But what’s the deal with all of these booties being just brown or black? Who says you can’t add a little bit of color? Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone; it might just turn some heads!

My lovely Fashionista is a perfect example in showing that ankle booties are definitely not confined to the plain black and brown colors, especially in the winter. When the weather is so drab and dull, a burst of color is the perfect pick-me-up on a bleak winter day. When I saw her, the first thing I noticed was the beautiful fuchsia of her shoes and how well they stood out. If you’d like to strut in some fun ankle booties, check out some of these in pale blue, hunter green or merlot red. If you’re not sure how to pull off these bright booties, take advice from this Fashionista and balance the shoes with darker or more neutral colors. You could pair them with a dress and tights or even dark jeans and a peacoat!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Steal clothes from your mom. My mom and I basically steal and share all of each others clothes…and the ones I tend to get compliments on are hers.”
