The calendar finally says spring, but lately the weather around campus seems so unpredictable. Checking the weather for the week gives you a good idea of what to expect, but a high of 62 doesn’t mean chilly mornings don’t still exist. This is the time of year for layers, layers and more layers so don’t pack up all your cold weather gear just yet!
Even though spring has definitely sprung, this Fashionisto got the hourly forecast memo. For the base of his outfit, he had on a classic pairing of jeans and sneakers. His black and white buffalo check shirt worn over a T-shirt was the first of his layers. The final layer of his look was the key piece for this sunny, yet cold morning. A dark peacoat, typically saved for winter, was a great spring transition piece. The nautical anchor buttons on the jacket proved it was ready for the spring chill.
The best spring pieces are the ones you can quickly and easily take on and off throughout the day. Between walking to class in the morning, switching from classroom to classroom and doing some homework outside, a Fashionista needs outfit options! For these early spring days, choose pieces that are lightweight and neutral. One of my favorite pieces for this time of year is a light gray open cardigan. I can easily toss it over my shirt in the morning and fold it up or tie it over my bag when the sun comes out and the weather warms up. Don’t forget to grab those extra layers before heading out in these spring mornings.
