STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Box Yourself In

October has come and the fall season is in full swing! For children, this means jumping into piles of colorful fallen leaves without a care in the world (at least for those living in places with actual seasons) and gearing up for Halloween festivities. College kids have their fair share of fun, but for college students this month also means one thing: midterms. Throughout this hectic and seemingly endless time period, tensions are high and people are on edge. Even the chicest of Fashionistas are threatened due to the lack of sleep, time and inspiration. We have all been there, and the struggle is real.

However, one garment has proven itself worthy in the quest for something that is equally as cute as it is comfortable: the boxy T-shirt dress. It is loose enough to hide the effects of late night stress-induced munchies but extremely fashionable for a variety of settings. It is an essential piece that you can slip on 10 minutes before class starts, and no one would even know! Inspired by the ‘60s mod shift dress, but with a more flowy silhouette, this style of dress is dominating the fashion scene on and off campus.

This Fashionista looks like a modern-day Twiggy in a patterned black T-shirt dress and black suede combat boots that are perfect for fall. The subtle silver necklace and earrings enhance the overall look with the added sparkle. The outfit is so versatile that this Fashionista could have class or a fun day exploring downtown on her agenda!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “When picking an outfit, it often comes between style and comfort. I say, always pick something that makes you feel comfortable and confident since what truly radiates through is your mood and inner being. And that your smile is your best accessory!”
