Even though the snowy days continue here at Happy Valley, it seems that the long lost sunshine has been coming back around. Temperatures have gone up slightly and our wardrobe items have been able to vary. The usual dark winter hues are now slowly turning into the beginning colors of spring and I hope that this pattern grows. That being said, it is in no way time to say goodbye to these icy days and the debacle of which coat to wear is still a current dilemma. On a busy Wednesday before my Public Relations class started, I met up with this Fashionista and couldn’t help but ask where she got her perfect fashionable coat: her bomber jacket.
The bomber jacket is a relatively new item seen in the fashion world lately and I love everything about it. Its somewhat boyish feel makes for a versatile piece that can be matched with almost anything. Placing it with denim skinnies and a pair of Converse high tops to enhance the more masculine look is one way to wear this type of coat, but I think pairing it with a girly leather skirt, a fun crop top and heels makes for a unique look that takes the boyish vibe and makes it girly! Regardless, the bomber jacket can be worn with almost anything and is a great mix up from the usual long parkas and toggle coats.
I like how this Fashionista chose a casual look to accompany her bomber jacket for a Wednesday filled with classes. She chose a medium wash of denim to keep the outfit simple and easy and matched it with an awesome pair of lace up boots that I later learned are her favorite hidden gem. Over the bomber jacket she wears a golden rod chunky scarf that adds a little extra on the black jacket background. To accessorize, she wears a fun floral patterned head wrap to take her topknot bun to the next level. She finishes with a pair of thick-rimmed glasses and a simple flirty stud earring.
The way this style star used varying pieces to make for one look with her bomber jacket is a complete win. She remained subtle and effortless in her overall look but the bomber jacket is definitely not ignored. This jacket is a great transition coat for this time of year and all you fashion-loving shoppers should invest. Who knew there was a coat out there that could be boyish and girly all at the same time? It isn’t magic Fashionistas, it’s the bomber jacket.
