Running around in the streets of Mexico, you never know what to expect. The climate here, as I’ve learned in my short week abroad, can be as unpredictable as the events of the day. There’s so many errands to do, places to explore and events to attend it’s almost impossible to know how the day will turn out. Between the intense heat, sudden flash floods and seemingly entirely random turn of daily events it seems essential to dress for anything that will inevitably be thrown your way. I found this Fashionista in Chihuahua outside of a sort-of impromptu after-party and knew immediately that she was prepared for whatever came her way, be it sizzling heat or cool rain. And as it turned out, it was both.
This Fashionista’s look is perfect for a casual get-together in intense heat. Her cool green crochet dress keeps it fresh on a hot day while the crochet pattern gives it a bit more sophistication. Paired with a more formal silver statement necklace and a bold red lip, the dress gives off a look that’s formal enough to get you through any unexpected run-ins or events that needed an added bit of oomph. If you’re looking into keeping it a bit more casual for a rainy summer day and don’t like getting your feet wet, try dressing it down with some fun printed wellies and a light rain coat.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Wear what you like but make sure it’s practical. It’s fun to try things that are cute and functional.”
