Have you ever looked into your full closet and thought, “I have nothing to wear?” This could be because you have many clothes, but nothing to complete an outfit with. Patterns can be fun and dresses are easy to wear, but having just “the basics” is the best way to always have an outfit ready to go!

This Fashionista exemplifies the perfect look by just using “the basics.” Her midi skirt is an extremely versatile basic. It can match any color/style of top and can be dressed for any occasion. Her gray crop top is another simple item that completes her outfit. It’s simple, yet looks great paired with another neutral. Together, they make a bold statement with little effort— and little money, as well! Skirts and crops tops are two inexpensive items that can easily be used to create an outfit for any occasion.

Neutral colors are also a safe route to take when choosing what to wear. They allow you to accessorize as much as possible and wear whatever color/style of shoes your heart desires. This Fashionista stuck to gold jewelry and a brown purse to keep the neutrals as an ongoing pattern. She also wore a simple necklace and pulled her hair back to create a clean finish to the look.

Other basics that are a closet must include a various colored tank tops, a V-neck, cardigans, a blazer, denim jeans and many others. You can get these basics at stores like H&M and Forever 21. The more you have, the more options you have to create different ensembles!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Start filling your closet with the basics! You’ll be surprised how much of your clothes you’ll actually start to wear. Less really is more!”
