STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Boho On A Budget

Everyone has definitely had that moment in their lives where they open their closets and complain about having absolutely nothing to wear. This is me literally every day since the day I turned 13 and started truly caring about my appearance. One mistake many of us make is that we think we have to be decked out in name brands in order to achieve the latest looks and feel extra good about ourselves. You can achieve the latest look and feel great doing that by shopping anywhere.

This Fashionista proves my point and executes her look with patterned threads from a vintage boutique. Mixing and matching patterns and textures has always been a trend seen in various collections from designers such as Moschino, Rebecca Minkoff and many more. But not everyone can afford to rock those brands.

I’ve always found it hard to mix and match different patterns and textures together in one outfit, but this Fashionista doesn’t seem to have that problem. Here, this Fashionista is rocking a pajama patterned tunic( yes you read that right I said pajama). The patterns on her tunic have a bohemian vibe behind it. She tucks in her tunic into a black pair of velvet shorts and adds to her look some cute white platform sneakers. She also sports a royal blue parka coat because the wind in Chicago is real, and trust me, you wouldn’t want to not have a jacket when it’s windy.

Her accessories include a stellar pair of sunglasses on top of her head, a simple pendant necklace and a platinum midi ring, in which I think she was smart in making that selection. It’s never good to have a super busy outfit, well maybe that’s just me (oh well).

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Don’t be afraid to play with patterns it’s actually quite easy to pull it off and remember it’s totally okay to thrift, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!”
