Style Advice of the Week

After a couple of snowstorms in a row, we are finally seeing some nice weather here at Rutgers. My favorite part about second semester is the spring fever that comes with those warm and sunny days. When the weather starts to get warmer, the attitude on campus completely changes and everyone seems to be in a great mood. It is also extremely exciting to see the new fashion that spring has to offer.

This Fashionista’s outfit is a great example of what to wear in between seasons. She paired a beige cropped sweater with floral harem pants and black combat boots for a boho-chic look. The beige cropped sweater and black combat boots are the perfect pieces to pair with the floral patterned pants because the neutral hues allow the pants to stand out. When you are wearing printed pants or a patterned sweater for example, it is always good to pair neutral pieces with them so you don’t have too much going on.

Floral patterned clothes are usually more popular in the summer, but this Fashionista was not afraid to rock her pants with combat boots and a sweater. There are many types of clothes that can be transitioned throughout the year, it’s just a matter of balance. Wear these tribal print harem pants with a neutral colored crop top and a denim jacket for a cute, spring outfit.

This Fashionista accessorized her outfit with a ‘90s-inspired choker necklace. A lot of trends this year have been inspired by ‘90s fashion and being a ‘90s kid myself, I love the idea of bringing back the choker. There are no official rules when it comes to fashion and that is the beauty of it.
