STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Blue Jean Dream

This fall is all about making statements with your wardrobe; and my advice is take a few notes from this gorgeous Fashionista and get right with your inner thrifter. I’m a firm believer that vintage pieces are some of the most personal and unique pieces that you will ever have in your closet, and a thrifted denim jacket is an absolute necessity. Sure, going thrifting for the perfect item is not easy, but it’s definitely worth the reward in that you will have an amazing jacket that will never lose its charm! You’ll also be able to be more creative in your styling, which is always a respected and sought after skill in the fashion industry!

This Fashionista thrifted both of her denim garments and created an effortless and charming ensemble that proves denim-on-denim can be stylish without being too much. One major plus side to her decision to create her shorts by reworking vintage jeans is that they fit her perfectly and hit exactly where they should without being too short or too tight. For that reason alone, I think everyone should try to make one pair of high-waisted shorts because you will never be disappointed in them!

This Fashionista’s shorts also feature an interesting pleated cut with multiple seams on each side that give more depth and contrast with the sleek structure of her black tank worn underneath her jacket. The reflection of the vertical seams on her jacket and her shorts also bring your eyes down to her thigh-high socks that accentuate the length of her legs as well as providing more balance to the heavy texture of the denim.

Finally, the beige suede collar of her jacket stands out perfectly against the blue and black outfit and matches her gold hoop earrings perfectly. Overall, I love that this Fashionista is daring and bold with her blue denim ensemble, but keeps it casual with a high ponytail and minimal accessories.
