Style Advice of the Week

It’s no shock the University of Michigan Bucket List says go to Nichol’s Arboretum. Who wouldn’t want to walk through beautiful trails through nature? You may even just spot Fashionistas and Fashionistos on leisurely walks through the beautiful park. Perfect weather and finals facilitate a much needed study break at “the arb,” and it seems this Fashionisto had the same idea as me.

Now, a blue blazer may seem like an easy outfit choice. But, I think the blue blazer is totally underrated. It’s one of my favorite outfit pieces for the summer. It can be worn with shorts, pants, dresses, skirts and anything in between. It can also be an easy way to dress up work attire for those who have to dress business casual. I’m a firm believer in how the simple parts of a wardrobe can be the biggest hits.

This Fashionisto’s simple blue blazer is equipped with brown suede elbow patches. I think it’s the little additions to any simple blazer that make it stand out, no matter how small the colored piping or cinched waist. This Fashionisto sports his blue blazer atop a gray printed shirt that he had made with the phrase “Je vois la vie en rose.”

Keeping it both casual and classic, this Fashionisto is wearing light khaki pants. Also, on his feet, he wears perfect blue suede shoes (Elvis would be proud). Also on his shoes is a patch of brown suede. What better way to match your shoes to your blazer? To match his shirt, that touts seeing a life in pink, this Fashionisto wears bold pink tinted circle sunglasses.

If you want to look great like this Fashionisto, grab a blue blazer for this summer. My favorite kind for women is the kind that cinches in at the waist for definition. You can pair it with a simple white basic and long gold necklace for the perfect summer look!
