STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Black Is Always The New Black

Orange Is The New Black is maybe your favorite TV show, but when it comes to fashion, I think it is safe to say that black will always be the new black. A major key in the world of fashion is to know how to play your blacks. A red carpet event, graduation or any other event for that matter, your first and best bet would be something that incorporates black. It’s a timeless color, but you may ask how exactly to go back to black this spring?

Here at Lafayette college, this Fashionisto shows how to rock it. He is seen killining the fashion game by combining two popular trends, monochrome and a pop of color. His outfit throws in subtle hints of a monochrome along with a pop of color here and there.

The effortlessness of this look makes it a classic. This Fashionisto is seen mastering this art with his black shirt, black jeans and black shoes. He adds the black backpack to complete the shades of black. He delicately uses the subtle black monochrome as a base to layer with his olive green jacket and a pop of color through his patterned socks. The color choice and the borg lined collar of the jacket makes it an excellent transition piece from the seemingly endless winter to spring. The brown sunglasses complete the outfit and make this Fashionsto spring ready. He plays it safe in terms of the weather but bold in terms of his style. Simple yet powerful is the way to go this spring.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK?Personally I like to minimize my colors in order to make a specific portion of my outfit stand out. So with that one the all-black makes the socks, wolf face and the jacket seem more prominent. For spring, I’m into lighter colors, though. In general, I try to keep things minimalistic.
