Even as a California native, I feel like the only time I am truly comfortable is when the weather takes a turn for the cold. With loads of rain, wind and chilly air head your way this season, nothing will make you feel better than strutting in leather.
Although Southern California weather is bipolar by nature, this Fashionista knew how to use leather to her advantage. She had a minimalistic and chic basis of her outfit, mostly comprised of black and white pieces. Her tuxedo stripe blouse had a light and airy look that makes the daytime heat manageable. A blouse like this can easily be dressed up with a statement necklace or down with some simple skinny jeans. Depending on what you want, this basic piece has the capacity to mold to the vibe of an ensemble. It’s important to keep versatility in mind if you want your pieces past this season.
To contrast against the black and white basis of her outfit, this Fashionista decided to ring in the fall with some brown. She wore some suede brown knee high boots and a handy messenger bag. Although the traditional mindset is to refrain from pairing black and brown, this Fashionista was able to pull the look together effortlessly by coordinating leathery textures together.
The key to a chic and sleek look like this is by mixing in the leather. This Fashionista wore a leather bomber jacket in addition to her leather bag. The smooth textures give a streamlined look that can be worn from day to night. And, it’s not only the texture that makes leather the better pick. No matter your size, it will a leather piece will always look like it was tailored for you. This Fashionista’s leather jacket was adorned with some warm-toned gold studs along the shoulder line. Slight accents like this are what blend and coordinate brown and black for a well-styled look that captures the essence of fall.
Luckily for a leather (and pleather) lover like me, there are plenty of ways to rock this trend. Whether it is a skirt, bag or simple trousers, a look is always better with leather. Regardless of how you choose to leather-up your look, the texture, fit and accents will take your outfit to the next level.
