It’s hard to believe that even with finals and term papers upon us, summer is already in full swing here at the University of Florida. The temperatures peaked over 85 degrees yesterday and showed no chance of coming down anytime soon. Around 85 degrees is when even walking to class becomes a struggle and wearing jean shorts and a tank to absolutely everything starts to seem okay. This Fashionista found a happy medium for accommodating the oppressive sun while also keeping a sunny disposition. With a little help from my fellow fashionable Gators, it seems as though I’ll be able to dress hot but stay cool all summer long.
This Fashionista keeps her cool in the summer heat by dressing herself in a patterned romper. The light cotton fabric is the perfect choice in the summer. It allows her skin to breathe and won’t show signs of sweat. When picking summer clothes, it’s always important to choose something that doesn’t show the inevitable sweat stain that is likely to occur in above 80 degree weather. A pattern is another great way to conceal sweat marks! This Fashionista chose a psychedelic pattern in bright colors. The bright colors punch up the outfit’s appeal and make it an even more perfect choice for the weather. She adorns the outfit with a simple monogram, so as to not detract from the already busily patterned romper.
This May, June and July as your own campuses start to warm up, give a playsuit like this Fashionista’s a try. If you’re headed somewhere a little more fancy than just class, try a full on jumpsuit. Pair your jumpsuit with closed-toed oxfords instead of sandals and it’ll transfer your daytime class look to a much more sophisticated night look. Also, adding a pair of oversized sunglasses to your romper not only protects your eyes from summer’s harmful UV rays, but it also gives your outfit a bit of a Kourtney Kardashian vibe. Enjoy your last few days of class, Fashionistas, and get ready for a scorching hot summer full of fun styles!
