Style Advice of the Week

It’s that bittersweet time of year… the end of summer. Bitter because it’s those last few weeks to soak in as many rays as possible, but sweet because I mean if you go to a school like mine (Indiana University) you miss it like crazy (not to mention the fact that tailgate season is coming up!). Anyway, it’s your last time of the year to get use out of your favorite beach-y essentials or for your last couple visits to the pool!

The Fashionista above has an awesome beach-y ensemble on. The first thing I’d like to point out is her adroable cover up. I love the detailed lines and warm hues against her fair skin. I also admire the wide band at the bottom, it gives the look a put together and classy feeling. A huge trend in cover ups this summer is the unconventional cover up. We are seeing fringe cover ups (along with suits) as a way to look bohemian chic. For a more classy and girly cover up, use a maxi. This one shown on Jessica Alba is so darling. Or if you’re into something more relaxed try a lightweight hoodie or muscle tank from Brandy Melville.

The next thing I’d like to point out is her floppy fedora. I love a fedora for any day of the year (even fall!). If you want a head piece with a little more exageration opt for a floppy hat like this one. The Fashionista finally finishes her look off with a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses, Tory Burch sandals, darling arm candy and a necklace (who says you can’t wear a little bit of jewels to the beach!?). Now you have all the ingredients to the perfect beach-y outfit. And most importantly, don’t forget sunscreen!
