There are always trends in fashion in which every Fashionista must answer this question: to wear or not to wear? In my opinion, when it comes to animal print, this question will always present itself. With animal print clothing, there is always that fine line of just enough or way too much and it is a difficult style to get right. Often times, these beautiful prints of wild jungle creatures are not worn to their full potential. Well, I have found a great example of how to do fierce feline just right!
In a look that is a little more dressed up for a Sunday brunch afternoon, this Fashionista shows us how to bring precisely the right amount of animal print into a daytime outfit. Her cheetah print tank from Bloomingdale’s, with a perfect pop of neon in the buttons, is paired with very fashion-forward high-waisted black shorts. What I believe makes her take on this trend work so well is her outfit’s simplicity overall. By accessorizing with just an awesome pair of shades, courtesy of Urban Outfitters, and classic patent nude pumps, she allows the print to be the star of her ensemble!
Another great thing about the animal print look is that it can be taken from day to night very easily. Swap out the shorts for a pair of black skinny jeans and toss your hair up in a high topknot and you’re ready for a night on the town.
Now many of you may still be hesitant to dive right into the jungle (if you get what I’m saying). So let me try and convince you! To ease into wearing animal print, try something like this Eugenia Kim head wrap with a plain white tee and leggings for a more casual take on the trend. If you’re willing to rock a look similar to this one, here’s a comparable button-down tank that is light and airy and perfect for summer! One of my personal favorite ways to include animal print in my wardrobe is with a cool bikini like this one from Victoria’s Secret! Cheetahs love being taken out to the watering hole—or the beach as we humans like to call it.
So whether it’s day or night, tame or ferocious, take animal print for a spin this summer. Get your claws out because it’s fun for us Fashionistas to play like a jungle cat every now and then!
