The snow won’t stop in New York, but that doesn’t mean that what’s under your coat has to be boring! Having a cute outfit to reveal when you remove your outer layers is part of the fun of dressing in the winter. Today was all about stripping down to the foundation of a February outfit and giving the grounds a look.
One of the best parts about living in New York is being able to test out trends without appearing over-the-top. The cool thing about this look is that it could easily translate to many different neighborhoods like SoHo and Chelsea, and it would fit in no matter where in the city you are. This Fashionista has perfectly embodied Manhattan street style with her stellar graphic T-shirt, cool stitched pants and playful beanie she completely nails this futuristic look.
I love how the outfit is completely black and white and the detail of the color in the T-shirt gets to stand out. The mixture of graphics of the astronaut, the peace sign and the American flag make for a cool collage of images. The look could easily work in any season, but it is winterized with the tall black boots and the stretchy beanie.
But let’s talk about those pants for a minute! The panels of fabric fall exactly where you want them to and they help balance out the asymmetrical graphics on the top. They’re definitely a statement piece, but the statement isn’t so loud that it pulls your attention away from the look as a whole. They would also be great to pair with a cropped sweater or some cool oxford shoes. If you want to have that extra something special in your outfit, start from the inside and work your way out. This look is a perfect ten and is a great way to update your typical jeans and a T-shirt mentality.
