STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Bare Necessities

Style Advice of the Week

I don’t know about those of you in other states, but down here in Florida we’re definitely feeling the summertime heat. Living in the Sunshine State means that we are all so used to the heat almost year round. Because of this, we’ve managed to perfect the most fashionable summertime wardrobe to keep us feeling cool throughout the hottest months of the year.

Tallahassee is infamous for its hot, sticky weather, unpredictable rain storms and humidity that could turn even the most perfect hair into an afro in an instant. Even though the weather can sometimes put a damper on an outfit, Florida State Fashionistas still manage to keep their cool and look fashionable without having to wear a drab raincoat or plain shorts. A trend that has recently popped up among Fashionistas here in Tallahassee, is wearing loose fitting tops or flowy dresses and allowing lacey bras and bandeaus to peek through.

I spotted this Fashionista wearing a girly, backless Brandy Melville dress that shows off her lacey bra in a classy yet unique way. Urban Outfitters has an array of bralettes and bandeaus to choose from that would look great under a summery dress like this one or even on its own paired with some denim high-waisted shorts. She paired this ensemble with some chic brown gladiators and sunglasses so round and oversized that they would put even Nicole Richie to shame.

This summer, don’t be afraid to hold back from wearing any tops you would consider risqué just because they may be a little revealing. There’s always a cute bra top waiting to be shown off!

What’s your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I’m kind of obsessed with crop tops and ripped tees. The both show off a little skin but not to the point where it would be considered risque. They are also perfect for the humid weather and I don’t mind walking to class while wearing something like this.”
