STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Baby, It’s Cold Outside

Let’s be honest, not many people jump for joy when it’s 10 degrees outside and they have to walk to class. In the past, most of us would throw on a pair of sweatpants and a hoodie with our old high school’s logo plastered on the front and layer it with a puffy coat. The goal wasn’t to look cute. It was to get to class and come back with all ten fingers and not look like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Now a days, a stylish outwear coat that is also weather appropriate has become an essential piece in our closet, just like a little black dress.

This Fashionista is wearing a beautiful and modern army green parka. Army green has become a popular color for outerwear over the years. The color can transition effortlessly from season to season. Because it is winter after all, this Fashionista paired her parka with a navy and oatmeal colored knitted scarf and gloves. Army green’s versatilely means many colors compliment it well. From khaki to navy blue, any colored jean looks stunning. This Fashionista decided to pair her parka with navy blue jeggings and taupe booties accented with brown leather. Her outfit is appropriate for walking to class or grabbing a coffee with friends. She manages to stay warm while looking put together all in one outfit. That is no easy task!

What is your STLYE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “It is possible to dress warm without having to sacrifice dressing cute. The winter season is an exciting time. Students are returning back from winter break and ready to start a new semester. So why not look cute in an outerwear coat that is fashionable yet winter appropriate?”
