Though this style was invented to make you blend in, you’ll do exactly the opposite if you incorporate camouflage into your outfit. This trend isn’t just for the military anymore, or the Duck Dynasty cast for that matter either. This style started popping up in runway shows about a year ago, and since then almost every designer has been using the camouflage print, including Marc Jacobs, Givenchy, Valentino and Michael Kors.
Admittedly, I love preppy styles which use the camo print most of all. Something about the look is just so classic looking. I spotted this Fashionisto walking in front the library in J.Crew camouflage shorts. The muted camo print looks perfect on these streamlined chino shorts; if they had been cargos, this style wouldn’t have been nearly as appealing.
This Fashionisto kept his look simple by pairing his shorts with a plain white V-neck, leaving the camouflage print to make the statement. His boat shoes keep the whole ensemble looking preppy. In my opinion, no guy can do wrong in a pair of Sperry Top-Siders! To dress up this look a little more, try pairing camouflage bottoms with a button-down or a polo.
Introducing some camo into your wardrobe is a great way to stray from solids in the summer. The print is so versatile — it can be relaxed and preppy looking, as shown on this Fashionista, or be styled to look a little edgier. Next time you’re out shopping for clothes, be sure to scope out some camouflage print, even though it may be hard to find!
What’s your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Camo is one print that guys can get away with wearing while still looking masculine.”
